Robbie Earle: The Unsung Hero!

A dedication to simply the most fantastic football player in the modern game!

Robbie scores his World Cup '98 goal!

Robbie Earle is an all-round soccer legend. He is the most dedicated professional in the game who puts in a phenomenal work rate and SHOULD be rated higher than pussy players like Owen, Beckham, Zidane, Ronaldo and all the other regular crap!
The reason he has received little of the acclaim that he so richly deserves is that in the football world's eyes he plays for the wrong club! It is a well known fact that Wimbledon F.C have the wrong image and reputation in english football for the players to receive the kind of recognition lesser talents in other clubs get! Still this didn't blind Jamaica who took Robbie to the world cup!

On 16 November 1997, Jamaica, a side written off as no-hopers less than a year before, secures qualification to the 1998 World Cup finals. The whole island ground to a halt to witness Jamaica secure the decisive 0-0 draw with Mexico. A swaying, chanting, whistling riot of colour and noise assembled at the rickety national stadium for the biggest party since Jamaica was granted independence in 1962. This wasn't just a football match but an entire nation making a point.
The story of the Reggae Boyz was the most exciting, the most human, element of the 1998 World Cup. Written from the very heart of the Jamaican side, Robbie Earle and Daniel Davies have traced the team's remarkable journey from the rough pitches of Jamaica to the world's biggest football stage.
Robbie Earle's other roles in life

As well as possessing outstanding abilities on the field, Robbie has a wealth of other talents:-

- Top notch football pundit.

- Member of the Government's Football Task Force.

- Writer for Goal magazine, Evening Standard and the Observer.

- Miracle worker who always gives a solid performance.

- Football's Mr Nice Guy who only harms the opposition.
